LifeRelease has been birthed from passion in observing the life people live by default and knowing there is a life they can live by design. My name is Data Sophia Arthur-Uchendu. Please call me Sophia. I'm an accredited therapist offering counselling, psychotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to help individuals, couples and families. From people in their late teens to young adults and adults with a range of issues including but not limited to, Trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, abuse, self esteem issues, relationship issues (including parent struggling with teenager; late teens/young adult or adult struggling with parent), marital issues, communication issues, divorce, and confusion.



My approach is Pluralistic Psychotherapy which draws from various modalities. With a base in Person-Centred therapy, I could journey back with you to history to find what your subconscious is holding and how that is manifesting in your ‘today’ (Psychodynamic); we could throw our attention on your Cognitions and Behaviour to manage them to work well for you (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy); we could focus on you achieving your full potential in life (Humanistic). This, of course, is not the limit. I will work with using a healthy dose of psycho-education so that you are well informed of what is happening with you.



Being a person of faith and a woman of colour, I also provide Christian faith- based therapy and run a culture aware practise. Both niche approaches do not negate the psychology of life. With me, you are assured of the highest form of unconditional positive regard regardless of the background you have or the approach we use.



I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and I am accredited with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy society, NCPS (formally NCS). I hold a professional indemnity insurance.

Let’s provide the safe space you need to talk and have someone sensitively listen through with an unconditional positive regard and empathy. My counselling practice is highly trauma informed and I combine this with a healthy dose of psychoeducation. I am licensed in the UK with years of professional work experience. I have worked with people who have experienced various kinds of trauma, who are dealing with post traumatic stress, have PTSD, have or are dealing with abuse, have relationship issues (regardless of the type of relationship).
